Our mission is to bring Greater Atlanta into an encounter with the Kingdom through planting new churches in strategic communities across the metro area. Perimeter believes that one of the most effective ways to promote the growth of God's Kingdom is by planting "Prevailing Churches". Perimeter is committed to training men who have been called to church planting and mentoring them through learning our "best practices". We look forward to sending out these daughter churches, which will plant other churches, so that "greater Atlanta and all the places Perimeter serves will come into a life-transforming encounter with the Kingdom of God".      The Church Planting Residency of Perimeter Church contains three parts: 1. The Learning of Perimeter’s Vision, Values, Philosophy of Ministry and Best Practices A seminary experience typically trains a minister in knowledge and in certain fundamental skills needed by all pastors. It is not intended, however, to help a man think through the particular strategies and foundations for successful church planting. The Perimeter Resident will be exposed to much in ministry that he can use, adapt or contextualize as he lays a strong foundation in his church. Many church planters err in this very thing- the lack of a well developed set of Values, Philosophy of Ministry, and Ministry Strategy. 2. “On the Job Training” Most adults learn best by “doing” not simply by reading or observing. Year One of the Residency will focus on real ministry experience along side a Perimeter Pastor working with Young Adults, either in their 20’s or in their early 30’s through their mid-40’s. Actual experience in evangelism, discipleship, teaching and leadership is gained and the church is benefited greatly. In Year Two the Resident will find himself “in the trenches” with one of our church planters already on the field. Much will be gained by laboring alongside a brother who is only one to five years ahead of himself. 3. Preaching and Teaching Continued experience in teaching and preaching God’s Word will help prepare a man for church planting. Communicating God’s Word in the apprenticing church plant, in the Seasons of Life Community, in other church plants and in sister congregations will further develop the Resident’s abilities in this area.
